Bof

Mouais, le catalogue français est inexistant

Useless

App requires an online account but provides absolutely no information on how to create an account or recover a forgotten password or account. Epic Fail!

New user confusion

How about at least telling new users where to go to sign up in your app? If it wasnt for the article on AppAdvice I wouldnt have known your URL to sign up at all. You dont even mention where to sign up in the description. I cant even imagine the confusion of anyone who just happened to stumble upon your app by blind luck.

A rip! No offline mode for public domain books

Its not believable that I have to pay in order to read a free book on my iPad

Doesnt Work!

Installed. Cant use app until you sign up via a web browser, which requires your email address and demographic information (sex and date of birth). Then when app launches... Nothing happens. It gives you choices of; new, favorites, categories, etc... But NOTHING happens when you click on them. No books come up. As far as I am concerned, they stole my email address and demographic info for marketing purposes and gave me nothing in return. Date of birth?! Really? There is no legitimate reason for that. MAYBE age range. No one respects you privacy anymore. Shame on them. Oh yeah, and click on Feedback on the website and a dialog box comes up in another language... With no way to enter feedback in English.

Thumbs Down!

This App is poorly done and buggy. To sign up you have to go to the website. Poor user interface. If you download a book from within the app there is no way to delete that book. No way to search for a book from within the app, either.

Not quite as bad as reviews

Some of the complaints are just frivolous. First, the web site is in the iTunes App store description. Second, you can add an account via Facebook (same privacy concerns as most other Apps). It DOES require a monthly subscription for offline reading (no way), so ... if you are ok with reading some of the classics+ online, then its a pretty good App.

So many books

Just got the app and as an avid reader I am dumbfounded by the enormous collection of books available. My only complaint is that it loads a whole book, and takes too long. If it loaded a chapter at a time I am sure the fading would go much easier. Oh, and there is no link to your account in the app, no preferences drop down. But compared to the google books app this is far superior

Beautiful!

This apps just about PERFECT for any classic fan! An incredible collection, wonderful graphics, loads of options, and a fantastic reading experience. A must-have for any book lover! I can go on and on about how wonderful it really is. And the size of the file is just DREAMY! Plain perfect. But, of course, there are some frown-worthy drawbacks. No search option, so you cant just jump directly to the book you want. And of course, the enormous time it takes for the book to load the first time, and when you finally get to open it, you have to wait for the chapters to be installed. I fell asleep halfway through the loading process, but boy, the wait was worth it. At one point, I forget this wasnt a real book. This app is just THAT good. If youre a patient man, this is the perfect ebook app for you! If not...well, Google is always there to help, right?

Poor content

The app seems to have trouble loading content in the categories I checked. The content is pretty poor. Mostly Project Gutenberg free public domain books. You should open your doors to indie authors. The times are changing and a lot of good authors are going independent and avoiding the publishers. Your bias will hurt you as right now you have an app with books that we can get anywhere else for free. Why would we read Jules Verne here with ADS in it when I can download it to iBooks. There are indie authors that would fill your categories with novels.

Needs to be polished

Slow loading, with buggy interface. Doesnt seem to offer better content than other free reading apps, in fact, it looks like it has less. It also makes you sing up, which I dont see why you should grant access to your facebook acc. or create a new account if you dont want to.

A GREAT DISCOVERY!!!

I love this app! Definitely one of my most liked apps!! Thanks;)

Great user interface and content

Really like the interface and growing content. Great app for readers. Getting better release after release

Perfect for summer night reads

Great selection of books. Reasonable price. Even has books that are hard to borrow from the library. Love this app.

Great promise but...

Has a GREAT selection of books. Tried this primarily for the graphic novel content, but have a difficult time loading books. Blank pages, pages dont quite fit the screen. Search is glitchy, and wont let me open books once I have found them via the search option. Will be happy to give a 5 star review with a perfecting update.

HORRIBLE

This app is a waste of your money! Dont buy from them! I was reading my book and out of no where an error happens and I am left without a book and no help or effort to fix the problem! Also this happens at the worst time because I was required to read this specific book and write a report for my English class, so thanks to this app and 24 symbols in general Im left with a bad grade, a large amount of stress, no book, and of course a wallet with no money since they leech off of you and then dont provide! Thanks for nothing 24 symbols

Poor substitute for Oyster

But one of the few subscription services. Reading choices are OK, but app is buggy: closes itself mid-read, pages missing &/or duplicated & periodically locks up entirely. I MISS OYSTER!!

still issues

Unfortunately, same issues with stability, crashing, not opening. Very disappointing.

esty encantada con sus libros, pero creo que deberan poner más libros de suspenso, triller, policiacos, de autores reconocidos gracias

Slow

I should have read the reviews before downloading. So slow and takes forever to work. $9 a month for an app that doesn’t work is ridiculous.

major overhaul

this app needs alot of work first when searching for certain subjects the results are very limited second when you review a books their should be related books for that category the loading takes a while to load for what im paying for should already be in this app granted i have found books pertaining to my interests here but i have to scroll through the categories to find what im looking for 😤😡😞

Horrible app but has tons of books

The app itself is horrible. Doesn’t let you change the rotation of the iPad, takes a long time to load the book, books stay in the currently reading even after showing 99% read and the search function is horrible and you can’t search for a book from the author from a books info (ie looking for the others in the series). The app needs a lot of work and help but the thing is I continue to use it because the datebase of books is large and has a lot of the books I want to read that other online libraries don’t have so I suffer using the app. Have it 2 stars because of the large book selection but the app need major overhaul.

VERY DISSATISFIED!! 😡

This app says you get unlimited reading for free, but then it tells you to get premium. No big deal, right? Except for the fact that it lets you get 9 chapters in, and then it makes you pay, nine bucks, for premium to finish the book.

Premium

I’ve purchased the premium subscription and I can’t find a single book I tried looking up. There is no free trial and you can’t really know what you’re up to when you get the premium. All the titles I look for are not there and if they are then they’re In a different language

Don’t—Just Don’t.

When it says that you can “cancel any time” that is false. Very false. I have spent over an hour trying to cancel, but the directions I found on their website don’t work. It refers you to the home page and instructs you to menus that don’t exist. When I finally found a tiny sentence at the very bottom of a page I lucked onto, it said “to unsubscribe press here.” So I did. Then a screen came up asking for a phone number. I put in my cell (which is my only phone) and it asked me to enter the 5 digit code sent to my phone. The only problem with that was the fact that it didn’t send a code. I tried it again. No code. And again, same. There was a help Center with frequently asked questions. I clicked on that. The answer it provided was simple: “Please check to make sure you entered your phone number correctly.” Again, tried this a few times, and yes, the phone number I have had for 14 years was correct. I kept going around and around. I also tried clicked on an option which was supposed to give me a phone number to call for customer service. Great! So when I went to that option, it asked which country I am in. Unfortunately, after checking over the list of options several times I saw that “United States” isn’t on the list. The closest entry was “United Kingdom.” I finally sent sent an email explaining what I wanted and begged for mercy. A return email in several languages (English was near the bottom) informed me that they received my inquiry and the team was getting right on it! So trust me, unless you are willing to make a lifelong commitment to $8.99/month, don’t listen to them!

App and site are horrible

The app and the site are the worst I have ever used, they keep closing or locking up. The service isa good price and it has the books I want but the reading process is soooo bad. I keep hoping it will improve but I may have to cancel soon because I just can’t take reading a book and it locks up and then losing the page I was on! Pleas fix this is a good service.

Absolutely terrible app but great service

This is one of the worst apps I have ever used but the service almost makes it worth putting up with the app. I keep hoping it will improve but so far it hasn’t. The app is constantly locking up (especially if you try to flip thru quickly),unable to load a book, losing your place when you close and come back to the app, and doesn’t work when you are offline even you have downloaded the book. I don’t think I have ever read a book where I did not have to actually the app and reopen (of course my correct location has been lost)I frequently don’t bother with the app but just use the web site which functions great.

Do not subscribe! Save your money.

App closes constantly. The search function is awful. Category search does not return results. This app does not work. I was bummed, it seemed like it would be great.

Crashes too often

I just read a review that stated it crashes over 50 times even when downloading book but the review was a year old so I decided to try it anyway. Unfortunately, this is still the case. It freezes every few pages or completely closes up to the point where I have to restart my phone. This literally happens every 3 or 4 pages. Can’t enjoy reading this way. It’s a shame.

Only app I use to read books

It’s a really good app One main reason I like it is because it has books you can’t find any where else

Premium books not ID’d

App does ID books as premium at the beginning. Older books come up as available and you can start reading. However about 40 pages into the book, it keeps asking if you want to join premium. If you don’t join you can’t continue! Not worth starting any book or joining.

Good books terrible app

It freezes a lot and you have to restart the app. It crashes when deleting books from your reading page, which then reappear. Navigation is awkward but you have to have the app because the website isn't fully functional either. (I couldn't enter my age to access any mature content) I doubt I'll sink more then the first $8 into this. Update: I can't unsubscribe because the website is broken you can't do it from the app. It's not worth it!

Just awful

Literally the only positive of this app is the selection. Beyond that it crashes every few pages/minutes. It is quick to restart, but when you have had to do it about 50 times per book it is infuriating. Most bewilderingly, it does this even when you've downloaded the books to read offline. What is it even loading? Beyond that the search function is incredibly unintuitive. I will be canceling my subscription. By this point there is absolutely no excuse to have such a shoddy app. Use some of that subscription money to hire a worthwhile developer or just take yourself off the market.

Better than the alternatives

Kindle unlimited has crud for selection (if it isn't self-published, they probably don't have it). Scribd USED to be great but you can only read 3 books a month now. Plus they never seem to get anything new I want to read. This service has TONS of books I want to read and their are no limits. Many, many catagories, too. The app is only in portrait, and there are some bugs, but over-all it's worth it, imho.

Very Unstable Lacks Basic Features

Pluses: good selection of books; nice initial screen to explore different categories and find new reads. Negatives: Works well for a while and then shuts down and/or freezes over and over and then works for a while again. Lacks very basic features like being able to rotate book and hold phone on side and sepia page background color. Freezing and no page rotation are deal killers for me.

Poor design and unstable app

I really like the concept of being able to acess multiple books but I have nothing but trouble with this app. It will not adjust when I turn my screen and now I keep getting an access error telling me to try again later when I try to open my books. I would stay with them if its fixed right away, otherwise I will be canceling my membership.
